
Events and Awards
One benefit of joining Phi Delta Phi is you become eligible to participate in exciting events, and compete for awards and scholarships. Members of the Fraternity are eligible for participation in a number of unique programs and activities sponsored either by the international office or by the local Inn. These include:
LEGAL ETHICS WEEK
The Inns of Phi Delta Phi sponsor an annual Legal Ethics Week during which time various programs and activities dealing with professional responsibility are debated and discussed in the law school at large.
COMMUNITY SERVICE WEEK
The Inns of Phi Delta Phi sponsor an annual Community Service Week during which time members engage in activities beneficial to the community in which they are located.
BALFOUR SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
Thanks to a series of continuing grants from the Lloyd G. Balfour Foundation, the Phi Delta Phi Legal Institute has distributed over $400,000 in scholarship service awards. Interest income from the Balfour scholarship grants will provide twelve $3,000 grants this academic year.
INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM
Phi Delta Phi has established the INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM which awards a yearly scholarship to help fund study at selected law schools in the United States and Latin America.
BIENNIAL CONVENTIONS AND CONCLAVES
The Constitution provides for a
General Convention to be held biennially and authorizes certain expenses to be paid for one official delegate from each active Student Inn. The 2007 Convention will be held in Fort Lauderdale, FL in August.
INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE AND INN OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Phi Delta Phi sponsors annual
International Graduate of the Year and Inn of the Year competitions. The International Graduate of the Years are invited, at Fraternity expense, to attend the next Biennial Convention following their selection and the outstanding Inn receives a monetary award.
